Now here's a compact package. With its 20'
wing the Tornado 1 will fit in the most limited
hangar spaces or barn. Though practical
and fun to fly with 50-85 horsepower, you
could really crank it up with a Rotax 912S
(100 HP) or just turn it into a manned missile
with the Jabiru 3300 (120 HP). However, the
most common choice for this aircraft is the
Rotax 503 (52 HP 2-stroke) or Jabiru 2200
(85 HP 4-stroke).
Though the front cockpit remains similar in
layout and size to the 2-seat models, the
Tornado 1 has fixed, 2-position rudder
pedals. For taller pilots, you may want to
make adjustments to the lower edge of the
instrument panel for shin clearance. This
simple modification can be made while you're
building the airplane.
